This is one of my favorite projects I worked on because I was really interested on dashboards, so I decide to develop one dashboard with COVID-19 data. Because all this situation we are struggling with, there is a lot of free COVID-19 data. Therefore, I started working on this app. This app is only developed using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, bootstrap, and jQuery.

Another reason I wanted to develop this app was because I wanted to learn Bootstrap. The app uses data from different APIs, so we can find global data, a search tool to find data by country, some chart to visualize the global data and by country, a tip card to remember wash your hands, a interactive map with all the cases by country, and a table with the cases by state in the U.S.

I learned a lot while developing this app. I like the final product with the finish look. The only problem is that sometimes, the app get blocked by one of the APIs and the information is not shown.

COVID-19 Country Tracker is a React JS web application develop by Dilan Ramirez. It uses data from mathdroid/covid-19-api and restcountries.eu.

The main objective of this web application is to learn and practice my React JS skills and throughout components and prop states. It alse uses some chart vizualizations from Chart JS.

The animations within the app are from Lottie JS which is a JavaScript library incorporated in this case to React. Moreover, I use Material UI library to incorporate this Material Design to my application.

This React JS web application use data from https://datos.gob.mx/ to display in a interactive 3D map different weather conditions from different states in Mexico.

This project was more advanced than the previous ones because here I was using Esri API to generate the 3D map and draw all the symbols, pop-ups, and points in the map.

Moreover, I used a select form to choose and display a certain place's weather data. I like this app because I implemented all the knowledge gotten in my current job, and all the knowledge I learned from React to mix it and create a new web application.

Lugares Turisticos is a web application develop by Dilan Ramirez. The main objective of this app is to help visitors and turist to find the best turistic places in Puebla, Mexico.

It uses data from datos.cdmx.gob.mx; therefore, it is has official data from Puebla's goverment. This is a PWA to, so people can download this web application on their smarthphones.

It is just developed using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, and Leaflet JS. Place's cards are generated using JavaScript and bootstrap.

Progressive web application that helps people to find and add their favorite restaurants. The cool part is that you can add a new restaurant by using your current location or by adding an address.

Not all small food places are in Google Maps, so this app will contain all the favorite small places people want.

Web application that helps you to keep track of your expenses and incomes

It uses tables from Bootstrap and charts from Chart JS to show details about these expenses and incomes.

All these data is stored in a MongoDB database which is a noSQL DB. To be able to connect the front-end with the back-end, I used Express JS to create end-points to retrieve and add new data. It also uses Lottie JS to add a few animations to the website.

NASA’s Terrestrial Ecology Program launched the Arctic-Boreal Vulnerability Experiment (ABoVE) in an effort to better understand the vulnerability and resilience of Arctic and Boreal ecosystems and societies to environmental variability and change.

Contribution

As part of the systems ecology lab, one of the main projects is AOV. Among my contributions are the updating, refreshing, and improving ARMAP Viewer.

Bringing and present a stylish-minimal design to the website. Making and constructing tools for a general audience with easy-to-use gadgets to analyze and interpret information.

Implementation of mapping tools such as layers, shapes, graphics, etc. Developed and creation of charts and data visualization using plotly js and other javascript frameworks.

Our purpose is to calculate the Actual Evapotranspiration (ETa) through Reference Evapotranspiration (ET0) and Crop coefficient (Kc) as follows; ETa =ET0*Kc. By knowing the ET0 and Kc, we can estimate how much water a crop has.

Contribution

The irrigation web application is divided into front-end and back-end. Using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS in front-end applications and python Flask in the back-end server. Using the ArcGIS API, the app is rendering a map that is one of the main characteristics.

Medical Office Scheduler

About

A certain medical office does home visits for housebound patients. Scheduling the visits efficiently is important, and I will build a prototype web-based system to help. Every afternoon the scheduler starts with a list of patients to be visited tomorrow. For each patient, she has the mane, whether or not this is a new patient, and sometimes time constraints.

For example, if the patient’s daughter needs to be there but is only available in the anteroom. There is also a patient master list, which contains names, addresses, approximate map coordinates, etc. the output is a tentative schedule, which she can edit if necessary, and then give to the clinician who will do the home visits. The goal of assignment 1 is to learn how PHP works and what its features are.
